Grainger Street

A great view of Grainger Street taken from the top of Grey's Moment. Grainger Street itself was built in the 1830s and was named after the visionary builder and businessman Richard Grainger. Working alongside the architect John Dobson, it has been written of Grainger that he “found Newcastle of bricks and timber and left it in stone”.
