Typex Mark 22

Description

Typex was a wheel-based electromechanical cipher machine, developed in the UK in 1934 by Wing Commander O.G.W. Lywood. The Mark 22 was modified to increase its security and to make it compatible with the German military Enigma machine. Once the German messages were broken with help of the Bombe machines, the intercepted messages were decrypted manually using these machines.
