Christmas Preparations in the Pantry, Pockerley Manor

Description

A Christmas wreath underway and festive preparations in the pantry of Pockerley Manor. Pockerley Manor has an 1825 theme, but this farm was here long before the museum opened. It is part-medieval stone house and replaced an earlier fortified manor house of Norman origin that stood here. Pockerley has an intriguing Old English name that derives from the Anglo-Saxon ‘Pocca’, its name means ‘clearing of the hobgoblin’.
