The Rose Garden

The Stanley Park Rose Garden was first established in 1920 by the Kiwanis Club of Vancouver. It was built to demonstrate the immense possibilities of rose cultivation in Vancouver's distinct Pacific Northwest climate. Before the formal garden was dug, the Rose Cottage was constructed nearby around 1914. It initially served as the official residence for park superintendents and now functions as administrative offices for the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation.
