Lord Stanley Statue

The bronze monument depicts Sir Frederick Arthur Stanley (the 16th Earl of Derby), who served as the Governor General of Canada from 1888 to 1893. The granite plinth is carved with his famous 1889 speech dedicating the grounds: “To the use and enjoyment of people of all colours, creeds, and customs, for all time, I name thee Stanley Park.”
