The Lions Gate Bridge, officially known as the First Narrows Bridge, is an iconic suspension bridge that connects downtown Vancouver to the North Shore municipalities. Opened in 1938, it began as a private project financed by the famous Guinness brewing family to provide access to their real estate developments. Today, it stands as a symbol of civic pride and a designated National Historic Site of Canada.
